FIBER! Hemp and Gut Health.

Did you know hemp seeds will significantly benefit the health of your gut? As we know, gut health is the base of optimizing your health. Without a healthy gut, nothing will function properly. A healthy gut means your body is absorbing and utilizing all the nutrients and minerals it is given at the highest level. Leaving you feeling spectacular both mentally and physically.

All of our Hemp seed products have over 10 grams of fiber, and our Hemp squares have over 6 G of fiber. This is hugely beneficial for the health of our gut, and proper digestive function. Human colonic microbiota plays a massive role in gut health. Feeding the mitochondria in our guts. High in prebiotic, insoluble and soluble fiber, hemp seeds will help feed the probiotics in your gut and help to secure a robust immune system. The soluble fiber in hemp helps healthy gut bacteria flourish and also can help regulate cholesterol and blood sugar. The insoluble fiber helps your body digest waste. Fiber can also aid in weight loss for many. This is because, it reduces blood sugar spikes, and really improves your bodies satiation levels. It helps in regulating the hunger hormone, ghrelin. Leaving you feeling satisfied and full. Especially when eating your first meal, aim for foods high in protein, healthy fats, and fiber to feel full for longer.
A diet that includes optimal amounts of prebiotic fiber is excellent for weight loss because it promotes healthy gut hormonal changes raising the levels of good bacteria and crushing the levels of harmful bacteria in the gut. This will significantly reduce sugar cravings and will help you feel full and will cut the desire to eat for more extended amounts of time.

The prebiotic fiber in hemp seeds is also what makes this superfood so powerful. Prebiotic fiber can help the body increase calcium and magnesium absorption. A healthy gut helps your body become much more efficient at absorbing the nutrients it is given. This leads to stronger bones and increased bone density, a stronger immune system, a stronger wall around the gut lining, significantly reduced inflammation in the gut, and may even lead to decreased feelings of anxiety. Perhaps the most immediate impact eating hemp seeds can have for you is slowing down the bacterial leakage throughout the wall of your gut. Many people refer to this as "leaky gut," and it is prevalent in most Americans diet. Leaky gut causes harsh stomach aches, bloating, gas, irregular stool and other very annoying and painful side effects. Eating hemp seeds, and other high-quality sources of prebiotic fiber (none will taste as good :) can help seal your gut and end leaky gut. More importantly, this will lead to your body being more efficient at absorbing and shuttling nutrients which are so needed by the cells in our body.

The issue due to the modern western diet is most Americans, are incredibly deficient in fiber, and more importantly prebiotic fiber. According to Dr. Michael Greger, on nutritionfacts.org, a whopping 97% of Americans are deficient in fiber. This is due to the lopsided diets Americans eat lacking leafy greens, seeds, healthy nuts, fruits, and other foods high in healthy fibers. This issue is so significant that it has a direct correlation with skyrocketing increases in obesity, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer's and other serious health issues in modern American culture.

This all sounds great, but how much prebiotic fiber should I eat?

Fiber deficiency can catalyze serious health issues. The good news is, eating a diet rich in fiber will lead to optimal health. Your gut will be extremely healthy, diversifying nutrients where they need to go at an efficient level, allowing you to feel great! Your digestion will be smooth, and you will not experience frequent stomach pains, gas, or bloating that are related to leaky gut. Due to your gut not being inflamed, your blood flow will be optimal because the proper nutrients are being shuttled to where they need to go. This is why reducing gut inflammation leads to overall reduced inflammation, better blood flow, lower blood sugar, and even reduced anxiety. They say the gut is like the brain of your body. It controls everything that goes on in this complex, fascinating machine we are lucky enough to have. Having a healthy gut allows for it to function at a high level and support health elsewhere in the body. You only get one body, take care of the gut, and it will do a lot of the rest for you!

I know what your thinking. How much fiber should I eat? What foods are high in Fiber? Here is some data for you. The average women should eat about 25-30 grams of fiber, and the average man should eat about 35-40 grams of fiber. Focus on getting prebiotic fiber, as it is the best for the gut. Do not neglect soluble and insoluble fiber as they both also have tremendous benefits, and you need a good balance of the three to achieve optimal gut health. If you reach your daily fiber amounts using some of the foods I am about to suggest, it is likely that you will get sufficient quantities of all 3! First I’ll start with how not to get your fiber. “Breakfast bars” “healthy cereal” and other foods of this nature that claim healthy due to being high in fiber. The problem is, these foods are made with tons of added sugars that will create a massive insulin spike and crash leaving you hungry again in an hour. These foods also contain ingredients like palm seed oil, vegetable oil, artificial sweeteners, and other ingredients that will create a nightmare for your gut, totally defeating the purpose of the fiber they contain. Instead, opt for foods from the earth. Foods like fruits, (raspberries, apples, blackberries, etc. are all great.) Vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, and spinach are all excellent sources of fiber. Sweet potato, oat bran, organic popcorn, and beans are also excellent sources of fiber. Seeds such as chia, flax, and pumpkin are all high in fiber as well.

Most of the foods above contain about 3-5 grams of fiber per serving and don't taste super great. The ones that do taste great are inconvenient because usually, you need to use them as an ingredient or blend them in a smoothie! The best source of fiber is Hemp seeds! Contain a whopping 10 grams of fiber per serving! Most of it being prebiotic fiber. What an easy way to help you reach your daily needs! Not to mention, they taste way better than the other options and come with an incredible complete profile of amino acids and natures only perfectly balanced plant-based omega 3:6 ratio!!

We've created two delicious products out of natures most nutritionally dense superfood. Our Super Squares and our Toasted Super Seeds.
